Google That!

Try to type something in HTML format and know my pain! Anyhow, have you ever tried to google something and gotten an interesting answer? Happens to me all the time, in fact I was googling some characters from different anime and found some very interesting results which I will share with you. Up First Naruto
What do I have to say about that. First result.....could be true depending on how you look at it. Second result....made me lose faith in humanity. Third result is true as far as I know, I haven't gotten that far in the series yet, but something about Naruto inheriting the Six paths rings a bell. Fifth result...Ninjas are not blind and if Naruto was blind he would be unable to function. I would really like to read that fanfiction now.
Menma is the guy from the short filler arc somewhere around episode 214 if you don't remember him. He's an amnesiac and Naruto named him after food, classic Naruto right there. 1. Menma is annoying only in the fact that he's always showing Naruto up and being really helpful. Which isn't really that annoying unless you're Naruto 2. Menma is Tobi....no, just no. 3. Menma is Naruto THEY SPENT MOST OF THE EPISODES IN THAT ARC STANDING SIDE BY SIDE. he does actually kind of look like Minato...a bit.. I guess
okay...maybe not 4. well he could be..I haven't finished that arc yet
1. no 2. what?! how do you figure that? he's very excessive as far as explosives go 3. that might actually work 4. yeah, I can't argue there Next up....Fullmetal Alchemist!
1. It's so true! 2. ummmm, I mean sure, he could be, but... 3. WHO YOU CALLIN SMALL? I'LL BREAK OFF YOUR LEGS AND STICK'EM ON YOUR HEAD! 4. I thought he was Xerxian...
1. well..present day he's either an emaciated body or a suit of armor so I'm assuming that refers to his personality 2. that would just make things just so much easier 3. WITH WINRY...THE EVIL NURSE...ANIMALS.. 4. well as this is half the reason I watched the series in the first place I can speak from the point of view that...if you are still asking that question you have obviously not seen/watched fullmetal alchemist Next we have short sword art online part
1. Noooooooo 2. I'm not sure what that is 3. no guys you've got it all wrong his a beater which is basically a cheater who is also a beta tester 4. um YES! he's a bigger challenge then the bosses..
Death Note!
1. well...it depends on how you look at it, which I think was the whole point of the show 2. say that again and face the wrath of a thousand fangirls 3. well...he's not a gentlemen. 4. YES! finally...how is that last?
True, True, wut?, true Bleach
1. don't know what that's supposed to mean 2. Or that 3. He betrayed fanfiction?! he IS evil! 4. well it must have taken a lot of strength to beat that fanfiction bonus round Star Wars!
1. and 2. how could you even say that! Dying does not make you a bad jedi! 3. He was a gray jedi..not a sith 4. finally someone with a head on their shoulders! no just kidding, you can think whatever you want about qui-gon, this is just my opinion
And this is when we realize that he died for nothing!
you know respect for women is going downhill when they can only be described in terms of men
1. ummmmm no 2. yes! 3. it's true 4. but alas he is secretly married and also a jedi..that doesn't sound single to me
1. spoiler it happened halfway through the first movie 2. sounding British and being a jerk aren't the same thing, you jerks! 3. I'm getting tired of this accusation 4. NO!
1. Nice spoiler we have there right at the top of the list 2. it's true, look it up 3. that...is also true 4. evil to the core! And that's all I have for you folks. If you want me to do another, say so in the comments. If you like it, say so in the comments. If you have a suggestion or characters you want me to google, say so in the comments. Hope you enjoyed this as much as I did. Ryuki XS the Shinigami Gamer

Summer Wars Review

So, today my rabbit, friend and companion of eight years, was lost to the perils of my neighborhood. I searched for him until the sun set and then I made a flier and then I cried. After that I decided to check if my favorite youtube reviewer had uploaded anything knew. He hadn’t, but I did see his review for Summer Wars. I started watching it again, because there was nothing else for me to do until I realized I could be watching the real thing. I have wanted to watch Summer Wars for a long time so I thought, hey, why not? All I can say is, it impressed me. I thought it looked a little stupid at first, but when you get into it it’s a really amazing movie. I think a lot of people can relate to it because it combines so many aspects of life that people deal with every day. One of which is family. If you’ve ever experienced a family gathering at all you can relate. The small crazy children, the overprotective cousin, the black sheep, the strong woman at it’s head, and everyone else in between who agree to disagree and fight the rest of the time even though they will always love each other. It’s got the crazy family history that everyone is way too involved in. The crazy recluse cousin that’s into video games…way too much and that girl that’s always bringing her new boyfriend to family gatherings. And if you take one thing away from it the anime makes sure that it’s this, family doesn’t have to be perfect, but it’s family and in the end that’s all that matters. Family can be split into a million different opinions and separated by miles, maybe even large bodies of water, but if their threatened they band together into a fighting force to be reckoned with. There’s the family expectations as well and realizing that maybe they don’t matter as much as we thought. Now that the moral stuff is out of the way, I didn’t really mean to talk about that so much, but it kind of got out of hand…a little bit and I’m feeling kind of philosophical. I guess. Let’s talk about the animation then. Something that can be analyzed. The animation handled the actions scenes and the digitally generated 3D world that made up Oz really well. It gave depth and a certain playful feel to a world that, in the end, was anything but. The difference in feel between the computer screens, Oz, and the real world animation was immense. They TV screens actually made me do a double take at times because they looked so realistic. Sometimes the characters bodies looked a little too thin, tall, and spaghetti like (Natsuke and Kenji in particular). Especially at first, which sort of made me doubt the quality of animation a little bit, but as time went on the animation seemed to get better, or I just got used to the style animation. But it did manage the transition between real world and Oz extremely well. The plot The plot was an interesting mix between getting together in a big family, the consequences of the greater influence of the internet on our lives, and fighting the evil that will always mess up our lives. But isn’t that last reason in all movies? I don’t know, but for the amount of plot elements I thought it managed to combine them all extremely well. The family aspect and the effect of technology on society were almost explored at the same time since Natsuki’s family is so big it has a hand in government and public service, among other things. Really the problem and solution of the plot in this anime is almost completely, single-handedly, managed by Natsuki’s family. They really could make their own self-contained nation. Plot Summary To the actual summary *which may contain spoilers* it consists of a math genius who takes on pretending to be his crushes fiancé as his summer job. Sounds like a good job right? No! Because then the crazy family is introduced. Shy, slightly unsure, and definitely nerdy Kenji has a bit of a problem dealing with Natsuki’s strong-willed family, but I think anyone who’s ever had to meet a friend’s or girlfriend’s or boyfriend’s family can relate. After meeting the family Kenji received a mysterious text message consisting of a code late at night. After spending all night decoding it he finds out that he was decoding the security system of Oz…oops. Fortunately he wasn’t the only one who was duped, in fact he spent all night doing math and failed anyway because of a tiny mistake that messed up the whole code (actually just the last letter)…sounds like me. So he kind of lost. But regardless the hacker AI called, Love Machine, still got into Oz and started wrecking society. Natsuki’s family, led by Gramma, who is indisputably the driving force behind that family, rally against Love Machine to reverse the damage, which ended up being created by the black sheep of the family. The characters The characters were a little underdeveloped, but that can be chalked up to the large cast of characters, I can’t even begin to count all the characters, but the anime uses the fact that most people have big families and have experienced them first hand to supplement the underdevelopment a little. That, and most characters were sort of typical stereotypes anyway. Which doesn’t actually take away from the plot as much as you’d think it would. And it wasn’t the individual characters themselves as much as what they made when they were together that the plot focused on. Some of the main characters are Kazma-computer nerd kid and martial arts student who’s the person behind the most well-known fighting avatar in Oz, King Kazm. Kenji-the main character of the anime who works for Oz. He’s a math genius and almost made it to the national math competition. After that fell through his crush, Natsuki gave him a summer job where all he had to do was go along with whatever she said. Natsuki-the female lead who belongs to a big family, asks Kenji to pretend to be her boyfriend, and knows how to play a very complicated card/board game. Additional thoughts The whole concept reminded me of Sword Art Online. A digital world that rules your everyday life and then goes crazy destroying that life is kind of a theme in that anime. The whole beat-the-boss-and-everything-will-be-normal-again is something the two anime have in common as well. Watching Kasma do his martial arts routine with his uncle to prepare for his fight against Love Machine brought up another Sword Art Online reference: Does real world skill translate into the game…..usually that’s a no. But I think Kasma would enjoy the world of Sword Art Online and maybe even give Kirito a run for his money, since no one else is. Another thing that I really like about the finale was that everyone was necessary for defeating Love Machine. It wasn’t the main character, or the guy who was most tech savvy who was the MVP in the end, it was everybody. Even the girl who’s only skill seemed to be having a crush on her estranged, adopted, bad guy uncle and being able to play a difficult card/board game. Heck, even the estranged, adopted, bad guy uncle was important in taking down Love Machine in the end. Even the gramma, especially the gramma actually, was a key player in taking down Love Machine. It was a very satisfying ending over all that stated, no matter who you are and what you’re good at you can still do something incredible to save the world. You just need to believe in yourself. So, it’s a feel good story about this math nerd and his crush’s family, but it’s also more than that. I thoroughly enjoyed the movie and I would recommend it.

Fullmetal Alchemist Reaction for the Post 5th lab arc (there are spoilers....duh)

Okay so This last arc might have been my favorite ones yet. It was so emotional. I almost cried a few times and I definitely laughed out loud a few times, which I almost never do. The story during and after the 5th lab diverts from the manga because instead of filling the series with pointless filler (thank you) they just deviated from the plot entirely. Normally I would be really upset about this because, well, I like stories to match up and I want to know that I'm getting the full story no matter what I'm reading/watching. Since Brotherhood follows the manga, though I'm fine with it and I really admire how the pulled it off (so far) because it adds to the story and still makes for good entertainment. If someone hadn't told me I would have never seen the difference. Some things that make this particular arc stand out for me is the really emotional moments when Alphonse thinks Ed created him and he's not really real and runs off. That and when Lust and her gang shred Alphonse and coerce Ed to make a philosopher's stone using live people. Just when you think he's going to go through with it the military sweeps in and saves them all. The thing that got me the most during this part wasn't the homunculi, but that two faced (literally, it's upside down now, those are some impressive gravity defying glasses he's got there) Shou Tucker. He makes me really mad. The way he says he's going to bring homunculi Nina back and implant her with memories of the real Nina and she'll be even better then the original Nina. All this after he turned Nina into a chimaera. That, to me, is like kicking the brothers when they're already grieving over Nina's death. And it really makes you say to yourself, "oh my gosh, he is a lousy father." Which is kind of a twist after the plot makes you hate Scar for being the one who actually killed Nina in the end. Making the two people I hate the most in this series Barry the ripper/slasher/killer/butcher, I don't really know...he's just REALLY obnoxious and I was REALLY glad when Scar smashed his skull in. The other person is Shou Tucker, because he really is not going to drop this Nina thing or die. I guess you could say the reason I hate them is because they were resurrected and they still live like the idiots they were before. Soon it will be all over the news I guess the chimaera Shou Tucker and his daughter homunculi Nina redefining family life. And here's what really gets me, while all the humunculi are trying to become human, Shou is trying to turn his dead/chimaera daughter into a humunculi. How can he think this is a good idea when the humunculi themselves don't even want to be humunculi. Barry the whatever is a different discussion because he's fundamentally just like Scar, a mass murderer. Except Barry will murder just anyone, but Scar goes for state alchemists most of the time and random enemies of Ishbaal the rest of the time. It's not the selective killing that makes me admire and like Scare, I like those dogs of the state as much as the next person, it's the fact that he's doing it because he thinks that he's avenging the people that the alchemists killed and in his heart it's the only way to make it right. Even the score, so to speak. And while you may say, "Well he's still a heartless killer." I would agree with you until I saw how he acted with his own people at first I was like "Don't you know who that is??!?!?!?! Don't take care of him, he's a murderer! The bad guy!" but then, especially in the last arc it really struck me that, even though Scar may be the 'bad guy' he not a bad guy (a little Wreck-it Ralph for you guys there) the way he helped those children, and took Alphonse in (sort of he didn't really decide to open his door to Alphonse, but he did sort of take him under his wing) and said those really touching things at the end. It makes me really admire him and by the end of the story arc I can tell you that Scar is my third favorite character. Although I feel like I already had a third favorite so I shouldn't be giving that title away so lightly, but it was probably someone in the military and I like everyone in the military. Especially that girl that slapped Ed and hugged him. She's really nice. and then there's her partner
I love this guy. does he not look like Ed and Al's older brother or maybe even a little bit like Minato? Well that was kind of a random tangent. I feel like that may have been incoherent and you won't be able to understand it. That's unfortunate. and it was also kind of deep. But let's talk about one last thing: Alphonse. So this guy, he is never angry, never resentful, and he's really accepting of the fact that Edward is determined to outshine him in everything because he's taller then Ed. So this whole arc was like a HUGE SLAP IN THE FACE! He actually did hit Winry and Ed so for them it was a tad more literal and maybe more like a KO punch in the face. To see Al really angry and uncaring like that was...really...unsettling and....really sad. It's like you KNOW he deserved to act like this the whole time, but....it's Al so you never expected it. Especially after he lashed out at Ed and left Ed so upset that ripped me up, I nearly cried. I also almost cried when Scar was almost (not really I'm sure I was the only one who feared for his safety) died (that happens to characters a lot. Just as I start to like them they die, I call it NARUTO SYNDROME) And when Ed asked Alphonse if he hated him or not, it was really emotional, even though you could tell that's not what he was actually going to ask him before the 5th lab. And the whole thing was really truthful and eye opening because while Al had ever right to act like this the whole time he never did and when he did I COMPLETELY BLAMED BARRY THE BUTCHER AND HATEDH HIS GUTS. For real though, it did open up a lot of the things we were all secretly thinking that Al should be doing and the kind of tension that should be between the brothers. Ending on that deep note, thanks for reading the whole thing even though it was long, you rock and I hope you enjoyed it. Feel free to ask me any questions or join the discussion in the comments Ryuki XS the Shinigami Gamer, out.

The Beloved First Anime

So we all have that first anime that drew us in and made us want to watch more. If it was a long shonen (shounen?) like Naruto, Bleach, or One Piece we're probably still watching it. If it was a shorter piece, like my first Anime: Kamisama Hijamemashita (or Kamisama Kiss if you REALLY don't want to spell out Hijamemashita) it left you wanting more as soon as you finished the last episode. Granted you owe it a lot for bringing you to the anime community in the first place (unless you're not really and fan of anime and you're just reading this blog thinking 'what they heck?') and you probably have some good memories associated with it. As for me anime brought me and my high school friends together (and keeps us together...though not as much anymore) and we can all look back to the time when my friend, who at the time was the only Otaku, forced us to watch her new favorite anime and we all didn't know what the heck was going on because she showed us random clips that were out of order. Finally I was so confused and curious that I watched the whole thing in two days and became hooked.
The really tall, white guy with cat ears is my anime crush Tomoe. So here's my question for you
How did you discover anime?
What was your first anime?
Is it your favorite?
how did you find your next anime?
and since that turned out to actually be four questions
How do you find new anime?
I watch reviews by a youtuber named Gigguk, because he's really entertaining and usually I check out some of the anime he reviews if it looks interesting. He might not have the most professional review style, but he gets some important points across and makes it entertaining too.
I figured a first anime blog would be a good first blog so there you go, the official start of the anime talk blog. Hope you enjoy, comment, and stop by again because even if I don't get on it right away I will post more....eventually.

Ps. Sorry if the formatting is terrible the blog platform was acting up and I had to type the whole thing in HTML instead of word document format. very hard to do actually. Looks like we kicked this party off with technical difficulties....Tomoe's fault. But on the Brightside it can only get better, right?
