Fullmetal Alchemist Reaction for the Post 5th lab arc (there are spoilers....duh)
Okay so This last arc might have been my favorite ones yet. It was so emotional. I almost cried a few times and I definitely laughed out loud a few times, which I almost never do. The story during and after the 5th lab diverts from the manga because instead of filling the series with pointless filler (thank you) they just deviated from the plot entirely. Normally I would be really upset about this because, well, I like stories to match up and I want to know that I'm getting the full story no matter what I'm reading/watching. Since Brotherhood follows the manga, though I'm fine with it and I really admire how the pulled it off (so far) because it adds to the story and still makes for good entertainment. If someone hadn't told me I would have never seen the difference. Some things that make this particular arc stand out for me is the really emotional moments when Alphonse thinks Ed created him and he's not really real and runs off. That and when Lust and her gang shred Alphonse and coerce Ed to make a philosopher's stone using live people. Just when you think he's going to go through with it the military sweeps in and saves them all. The thing that got me the most during this part wasn't the homunculi, but that two faced (literally, it's upside down now, those are some impressive gravity defying glasses he's got there) Shou Tucker. He makes me really mad. The way he says he's going to bring homunculi Nina back and implant her with memories of the real Nina and she'll be even better then the original Nina. All this after he turned Nina into a chimaera. That, to me, is like kicking the brothers when they're already grieving over Nina's death. And it really makes you say to yourself, "oh my gosh, he is a lousy father." Which is kind of a twist after the plot makes you hate Scar for being the one who actually killed Nina in the end. Making the two people I hate the most in this series Barry the ripper/slasher/killer/butcher, I don't really know...he's just REALLY obnoxious and I was REALLY glad when Scar smashed his skull in. The other person is Shou Tucker, because he really is not going to drop this Nina thing or die. I guess you could say the reason I hate them is because they were resurrected and they still live like the idiots they were before. Soon it will be all over the news I guess the chimaera Shou Tucker and his daughter homunculi Nina redefining family life. And here's what really gets me, while all the humunculi are trying to become human, Shou is trying to turn his dead/chimaera daughter into a humunculi. How can he think this is a good idea when the humunculi themselves don't even want to be humunculi. Barry the whatever is a different discussion because he's fundamentally just like Scar, a mass murderer. Except Barry will murder just anyone, but Scar goes for state alchemists most of the time and random enemies of Ishbaal the rest of the time. It's not the selective killing that makes me admire and like Scare, I like those dogs of the state as much as the next person, it's the fact that he's doing it because he thinks that he's avenging the people that the alchemists killed and in his heart it's the only way to make it right. Even the score, so to speak. And while you may say, "Well he's still a heartless killer." I would agree with you until I saw how he acted with his own people at first I was like "Don't you know who that is??!?!?!?! Don't take care of him, he's a murderer! The bad guy!" but then, especially in the last arc it really struck me that, even though Scar may be the 'bad guy' he not a bad guy (a little Wreck-it Ralph for you guys there) the way he helped those children, and took Alphonse in (sort of he didn't really decide to open his door to Alphonse, but he did sort of take him under his wing) and said those really touching things at the end. It makes me really admire him and by the end of the story arc I can tell you that Scar is my third favorite character. Although I feel like I already had a third favorite so I shouldn't be giving that title away so lightly, but it was probably someone in the military and I like everyone in the military. Especially that girl that slapped Ed and hugged him. She's really nice. and then there's her partner I love this guy. does he not look like Ed and Al's older brother or maybe even a little bit like Minato? Well that was kind of a random tangent. I feel like that may have been incoherent and you won't be able to understand it. That's unfortunate. and it was also kind of deep. But let's talk about one last thing: Alphonse. So this guy, he is never angry, never resentful, and he's really accepting of the fact that Edward is determined to outshine him in everything because he's taller then Ed. So this whole arc was like a HUGE SLAP IN THE FACE! He actually did hit Winry and Ed so for them it was a tad more literal and maybe more like a KO punch in the face. To see Al really angry and uncaring like that was...really...unsettling and....really sad. It's like you KNOW he deserved to act like this the whole time, but....it's Al so you never expected it. Especially after he lashed out at Ed and left Ed so upset that ripped me up, I nearly cried. I also almost cried when Scar was almost (not really I'm sure I was the only one who feared for his safety) died (that happens to characters a lot. Just as I start to like them they die, I call it NARUTO SYNDROME) And when Ed asked Alphonse if he hated him or not, it was really emotional, even though you could tell that's not what he was actually going to ask him before the 5th lab. And the whole thing was really truthful and eye opening because while Al had ever right to act like this the whole time he never did and when he did I COMPLETELY BLAMED BARRY THE BUTCHER AND HATEDH HIS GUTS. For real though, it did open up a lot of the things we were all secretly thinking that Al should be doing and the kind of tension that should be between the brothers. Ending on that deep note, thanks for reading the whole thing even though it was long, you rock and I hope you enjoyed it. The Beloved First Anime
So we all have that first anime that drew us in and made us want to watch more. If it was a long shonen (shounen?) like Naruto, Bleach, or One Piece we're probably still watching it. If it was a shorter piece, like my first Anime: Kamisama Hijamemashita (or Kamisama Kiss if you REALLY don't want to spell out Hijamemashita) it left you wanting more as soon as you finished the last episode. Granted you owe it a lot for bringing you to the anime community in the first place (unless you're not really and fan of anime and you're just reading this blog thinking 'what they heck?') and you probably have some good memories associated with it. As for me anime brought me and my high school friends together (and keeps us together...though not as much anymore) and we can all look back to the time when my friend, who at the time was the only Otaku, forced us to watch her new favorite anime and we all didn't know what the heck was going on because she showed us random clips that were out of order. Finally I was so confused and curious that I watched the whole thing in two days and became hooked.
The really tall, white guy with cat ears is my anime crush Tomoe. So here's my question for you
How did you discover anime?
What was your first anime?
Is it your favorite?
how did you find your next anime?
and since that turned out to actually be four questions
How do you find new anime?
I watch reviews by a youtuber named Gigguk, because he's really entertaining and usually I check out some of the anime he reviews if it looks interesting. He might not have the most professional review style, but he gets some important points across and makes it entertaining too.
I figured a first anime blog would be a good first blog so there you go, the official start of the anime talk blog. Hope you enjoy, comment, and stop by again because even if I don't get on it right away I will post more....eventually.

Ps. Sorry if the formatting is terrible the blog platform was acting up and I had to type the whole thing in HTML instead of word document format. very hard to do actually. Looks like we kicked this party off with technical difficulties....Tomoe's fault. But on the Brightside it can only get better, right?
